All Moms are AH-MAZING and lets face it, basically Superheroes. I mean, day in and day out, leave it to a mama to get the job done. So I decided to start The Mom of the Month series. Each month, I will feature one AH-MAZING mom, highlighting her and her Hustle!
I am SO excited to introduce you guys to our November Mom of The Month, Kanani!
Kanani is a mom of four and an inspiring bad ass boss babe! Get to know her a bit more below, and don’t forget to check out her amazingly resourceful blog Totally Mommed It if you’re an existing or aspiring momtrepreneur!
Get To know Kanani
My name is Kanani B and I’m a mom of four kiddos. I’m married so sometimes it feels like I’ve got five kids. You can find me anytime over on my blog, www.TotallyMommedIt.com. I blog about my 3 favorite B’s: Business, Blogging, and Balance (Work/Life). I blog about tips and tricks I’ve learned as a new blogger and tips and tricks I’ve learned as a small business owner of a local construction company.
I started blogging because I’ve always been a mom who hustles and I was ready to graduate from giving people advice for free to monetizing the knowledge that I give out. It’s been quite a start and still a work in progress but I’ve def. found my place in the digital world. In my free time (what free time?!) I like to host get-togethers with our friends and family where I’m often considered bartender because I always have a fun drink to mix.
If you could trade lives with another woman for a day, who would it be/why?
I’d love to trade lives with Arsha Jones, owner of Capitol City Co. I love her story of building her business from $100 bucks and now she’s an entrepreneur of several different ventures and shares her journey in her group Brand, Build, Launch. I just love the hustle behind her story and her ‘get it done’ attitude. If I could be her for a day, I’d be furiously taking notes so that I can use her knowledge in my business.
Describe Motherhood in 3 words
Plainly put, “What the hell?” I feel like I literally have no idea what is going on sometimes and that I’m winging it. Add to the fact that everyone is trying to look perfect on social media, and I sometimes feel like I must not be doing something right. But, I’m learning along the way and seem to be pretty ok at it. Thankfully, all four kids have survived so far…
Which TV/Movie Mom do you relate to most?
Charlotte Pickles from the Rugrats. Powerhouse working mom who’s always on the phone but cares a ton for her kid(dos.) Trying to have the best of both worlds.
The best “Mom Hack” You’ve discovered?
I may not have ‘discovered’ it but I feel like I’m using a hack when I search Facebook for events nearby me. I have found so many things to do with the kids that are low cost and something that isn’t advertised heavily or just more of a local thing.
Any tips/advice for Moms looking to add Mom Blogger to their hustle?
Just do it and don’t procrastinate. Surround yourself with others who have similar goals and ambitions so you can be uplifted when the going gets tough (and it will) and so you can celebrate with like-minded mamas who totally get the craziness that is parenting while hustling. I believe in that so much that I made a Facebook groupjust for moms who are about the hustle life!
