Motherhood. One of the toughest hoods you’ll ever have the pleasure of taking a stroll (or run) through. That’s why there’s nothing better than finding new ways to make everyday Mom life a little easier to get through. Below you’ll find some of my fave sanity saving Mom hacks, as well as some from a few pretty bad ass Mom Bloggers,
Hang clothes instead of folding
If you despise folding and putting away clothes, maybe your laundry room looks some-what like mine. Baskets (and piles) of clean and baskets (and even more piles) of dirty clothes. With 5 people living in the house, folding and putting away laundry can be pretty time consuming (and boring) so I’ve started hanging everything I possibly can. Much faster to pop everything on a hanger, then bring to each room and pop in the closet! Stays more organized, too!
Sock Laundry Basket
I mentioned before how I hate folding and putting away laundry, right? Socks are the WORST! Ugh! So I just throw them all in a giant laundry basket or bin and let everyone fend for themselves in the sock department.
Cook Extra Servings
I love the idea of meal planning and I try to do it as much as I can because I believe it saves both time and money and well, thats #Goals right there. I don’t go all out and always stick to a plan but when I do my groceries I try to plan for meals that that have similar ingredients. For example, if I’m cooking rice Monday for a Jambalaya I’ll make extra to have ready for Wednesday’s Burritos. It’s the little things, really.
Lazy Susan For The Fridge
Calm down, I’m not calling you lazy, Susan. How many times does stuff get lost in the back of your fridge, forgotten about and then by the time you find it its old, and gross. This nifty little item is awesome to put in the fridge and throw condiments on or just to get organized! Space saver too!
Thats right. A backpack station. Give everyone a hook and school bags go up when they get home and are (mostly) ready to go for the next day. I also added baskets (Not pictured) under everyone’s hooks, for winter time essentials like hats and gloves. Shout out to my husband for building this beaut.
Dresser in the living room
Who said dressers are only to be used for unfolded laundry (Does anything stay neatly folded in there, ever?) in bedrooms. We have one in our living room as a tv console table. The options are endless and the extra storage is AMAZING! Especially when you have to clean up fast for unexpected visitors or well, anytime.
Silverware Bathroom Organizer
Take a silverware organizer to the bathroom! Use to place tooth brushes, hair ties, pins or brushes/combs. AMAZING. Photo cred realsimple.com
Ice Cube Tray
While we’re bringing silverware organizers into the bathroom, why not bring an ice cube tray to organize little items like jewelry. I don’t know about you but I always end up taking off jewelry in the bathroom, and this is perfect for a quick place to put your rings or itty bitty earrings without having them get lost in a drawer!
Mommy Emergency Car Caddy
Keep a stash of essentials in the car for those mom brain days (Erryday) I like to keep baby wipes (duh), any and all items possible to bribe my kids with such as, Goldfish, granola bars and fruit snacks (all about the fruit snacks), and of course my mommy essentials like a brush, hair ties and mascara in mine.

What makes my life easier is to have a big chalkboard sticked to the fridge where I write everything I have to do/buy, while running after my son, doing some work, house chores, etc. Then I take aphoto of it with my phone before going out (in case I need to buy anything) and I double check in the evening to see if there’s something left to do.
That’s always more accesible than the notes on my phone or the sticky notes and a pen.

One of my discoveries that makes life easier is incorporating freeze dried food into my meal prep! There are a few brands out there but I buy from Thrive Life because the quality is better and they have free shipping. Having a selection of freeze dried meat and veg is great for nights I am busy and forgot to defrost meat or don’t want to spend time chopping vegetables. And all the fruit is way healthier than dehydrated fruit (nothing added, same natural sugar content as fresh counterparts) and makes great kids and on the go snacks!

One of my hacks is to use screen time wisely and use that time for some self care. See more ideas at The Mindful Mom –Nadia
I have two young children and the one thing I’ve done which has been a lifesaver is ordering my groceries online and having them delivered. It saves me so much time, I no longer forget items because I’m paying more attention to my kids in the store than my list and I’ve also found that I save money because I don’t make impulse purchases.

I like to separate a few days worth of school lunch snacks into little containers and baggies. So the morning of, I can just grab a little zip lock with goldfish crackers or fruit to toss in the lunch bags. Saves me a lot of time in the mornings.

I have a hanging cubby shelf in my little guy’s closet. On Sunday I put together outfits for the week (right down to the socks!) in each cubby spot. In the morning, I’m able to grab the outfit and change him quickly!

My husband and I use the Cozi app to share information on the kids, grocery lists, calendar/all the kid activities we have going on for the week. It’s been a life saver! hot mess mom approved!

Meal planning is my biggest help because I’m never staring at the fridge trying to pull something together.
My kids make their own lunches and we have a system so they don’t forget what to grab (written in dry erase markers on the microwave 😂).
Routines! My kids know how things should happen so we aren’t constantly reminding them what comes next (getting ready in the morning for school, after school, for bed, etc). That may change as they get older but with 5 kids between 3 and 9 routines are a lifesaver.

I always make sure to wake up before Scarlett on the weekdays. This gives me some guilt-free time for myself to get ready for the day. I have even been trying to make this more of a habit on the weekends as well.

Work out whilst looking after your baby. Go for runs with the pram, do squats with the baby, do sit ups using baby as a weight. Listen for their squeals of delight as they think it’s a game and you get buns of steel!

A little thing I do that helps get me out the door in the morning is pre-package my toddler’s food for the week. This makes it easy to have food for the child care facility all set to grab ‘n go! -Rachel | Professionallyindebt.com
I load and run the washing machine at night – so that in the morning the laundry’s ready to be hung out to dry. Here, in India sun drying is the norm – so the laundry has the whole day in the sun to dry!!I have an entire set of activities planned for my son and some special toys – which I don’t let him touch. Being a work from home mom- when I have an important call or a deadline due – I hand it to him so that I get a good 30 mins to an hour to get my work done!!
